Sumatran Mandheling – Skull Island

Are you bored with your usual coffee? Are you looking for something new? Something mysterious? A coffee that brings the unexpected? Then Skull Island may be the brew for you. You’ll go ape over this unique brew.

Grown in the highlands of west central Sumatra, these beans are not named after a region, but after the Mandailing people. Due to the wet conditions in the area, the coffee ripens at a different rate and the beans do not have as long to dry as in other growing regions, leading to a processing method that requires husking the beans before they’re fully dry.

This results in a brew that has an earthy taste with vegetal notes, and an herbal aroma. It’s a full-bodied, more complex coffee than you’ll experience from most other regions, with less acidity but an intense flavor. Perfect for the adventurous coffee connoisseur!

So try something new and pour some adventure into your coffee cup. Once you do, you’ll want to visit Skull Island again and again.
